Hello! My name is Lauren Mercado and I am a first year student at Trinity. I was born and raised in Alameda, California. Alameda is a small island located in the San Francisco Bay Area. All four years in high school I was involved in theatre. I did a little acting but I mainly enjoy stage managing and working back stage. I have been the stage manager for four shows in high school. I also helped build the sets of three shows in high school. This summer I started kung fu and really enjoyed it. I earned my yellow-black belt. I also started taking spring board diving class at Stanford this summer too. I find diving to be very fun and rewarding. I was a gymnast for about ten years so that made learning how to dive much easier. I am doing spring board diving as a PE class this year and I am hoping to join the team here at Trinity next year. This past summer I was also able to get a job at my local theatre. I worked on props for a show called Steel Magnolias.
As far as my skills with computers go, I have basically none. In high school I was able to get by using Power Point and Word but I have not mastered them. I hoping that this class will teach me skills on how to use my computer so I will feel comfortable using it in my other classes.
P.S.
I sprained both my ankles at the same time last year.

Wow, Lauren, you've done some awesome stuff! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to learn how to be a diver. I think it's one of the coolest sports out there so great job! See you in class!
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren! I'm so happy that you're a techie and a performer. Also, I almost directed Steel Magnolias my senior year of high school; it's one of my favorite shows. You should go to the TUPS meeting tomorrow at 5:30 in the theater. See you in class tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHah wooaah, spraining both of your ankles must not be easy.
